Biscuits Champagne: Lefevre-Utile

TV wasn't invented at the time that this poster was made. Only 1 image had to sum up everything that a TV commercial could do. Think about how much information there is in one commercial: there's a story, a subject, a product, a person who needs the product, a purpose for the product, etc. The result has to be positive on people: for example, Mr Clean has to clean well and make the housewife really happy. How difficult would it be to take all that and turn it into 1 picture?
  • What's going on in this picture? How does it explain what is being advertised?
  • Can you think of a better picture or painting you could put there to better explain what's being sold?
  • If you had to make a commercial about this poster, how would you do it?
