Like his typical work, Derek Gores uses paper from magazines and product labels to make his collages.
  • Look at the different sizes and colors of the pieces of paper. Where do you see the smallest pieces? Where are the largest ones? How does it help the lines look more defined?
  • For one large shape, how many colors are used? For example, how many types of blue are used in the t-shirt, or the grass along the bottom? Is it more or less interesting than if the artist had used one solid block of color for each shape? Why?
